And in fact most high end kitchens have inset cabinetry; inset cabinetry is a style where the cabinet doors and drawers sit flush within the cabinet frame rather than on top of it, which is called overlay cabinetry. Inset cabinetry is more expensive, and it gives kitchens a classic, tailored look.

It’s also a bit more challenging to build, as everything has to line up just right, which is why it’s often seen as a premium option in cabinetry. So if you want a traditional, classic, timeless looking kitchen, and you have the extra cash on hand, inset is the way to go.
