How To Decorate With Pink
The color pink is such a joyful color to incorporate into your home! And it’s safe to say that the color is definitely having a moment – ahem, hello Barbiecore!!
So are you loving blush but kind of scared of going for it in your own space? Or maybe you’re not quite sure how to decorate with pink? Here are some pink decor ideas that flirt with the color without committing to it entirely!
The easiest way to incorporate pink into your space without spending a huge amount of money is to ADD ACCENT ELEMENTS! 😊
What are accent elements?
Accents in home decor are usually smaller items that belong to the same color family that you introduce into an already established palette.
A decor accent doesn’t only have to be color, though. Accents can be items in a similar material or texture, or a curated collection of items displayed together.
I like to think of an accent as any item that I can easily move around within my space (with the exception of an accent wall, obvs!).
The beauty of adding accents is that you can always add more if you are comfortable with the change, and remove them if you don’t like them or grow tired of them.
Below we will explore different ways of adding pink accents into your space, and we’ll look at some pretty pictures for inspiration!
Follow some of these smart decorating ideas and try some pink out in your space to see how it feels, without breaking the bank!
Adding pink to your kitchen
PINK BAR STOOLS
A pink kitchen can be fun, fresh and modern without looking like a candy store.
A great way to introduce blush into your kitchen space is by grabbing a couple of pink bar stools.
If you’re feeling handy, you can even find your own favorite pink fabric and reupholster some bar stools yourself.
Here are some snazzy pink bar stools that I am currently loving – the velvet blush and gold combination is one of my absolute favorites!
Adding a couple of accent barstools in pink is a fantastic idea if you want to introduce a playful pop into your kitchen, without having to redo the backsplash, replace/repaint the cabinets or invest in expensive, crazy colored appliances.
PINK KITCHEN ACCESSORIES
If you don’t want to get bar stools or maybe don’t have room for them, consider adding some small pink appliances and kitchen accessories!
Colorful accessories such as these will add a joyful pop of pink to your kitchen without making a huge investment:
After introducing pink accents into your kitchen, nothing is preventing you from adding a pink appliance here and there, or making some bigger, more permanent changes to your space.
However, it’s good to get the feel of a color through accent elements, before taking the plunge on larger items.
ADD PINK PAINT
Another idea would be to just paint the walls pink in your kitchen and leave the cabinets white and the kitchen hardware gold (if you’re lucky enough to have brass kitchen hardware!).
It looks quite striking!

POUFS & OTTOMANS
The same basic principle applies to the living room as well. Sprinkle in some color and it will make a massive difference.
In the 2 photos below, check out the difference a single hot pink ottoman makes in an otherwise quite neutral palette!
Huge difference, right?!
It just goes to show how much of an impact one small design element like a color pop can make in a room.
By the way – the hot pink ottoman pictured above used to be for sale at Target, but no longer appears to be available 😓.

PINK AREA RUGS
On the fence about carpeting your entire room in candy floss? I don’t blame you! I probably wouldn’t do that either.
Why not try an area rug instead?
I’m really into distressed vintage style rugs in pink hues right now!
PINK WALL DECOR
There are few things more exciting than seeing a corner of your room instantly transform when you hang up a new piece of art.
Consider a bold, abstract print in pink in a corner to see how it feels!
You don’t have to invest in original paintings: you can find a plethora of affordable prints online on marketplaces such as Etsy or Redbubble.
Whether you want abstract, geometric or just a friendly pink flamingo – you will be sure to find anything your heart desires.
PINK ACCENT CHAIRS
Similar to adding accent bar stools to your kitchen, another effective but simple way to add pink as an accent is to just throw a pink chair into the mix somewhere!
What do you think of these amazing pink accent chairs? I would buy all of them if I could!

CUSHIONS & THROWS
If you don’t want to go as far as getting a new pink chair or new pink furniture, then just toss a couple of pink pillows or a throw on your existing chair, sofa or bed.
It’s guaranteed to make a huge statement!

Small powder rooms or bathrooms are a great place to try our your blush crush!
There are several simple and affordable ways to add pink accents to a bathroom.
