This gorgeous green and white breakfast nook designed by Stephen Sills is so simple and yet so beautiful!

The built-in bench upholstered in green velvet, paired with the marble surfaces, crisp whites and gold accents is a perfectly balanced blend between mid-century modern, glam and contemporary decor styles.
The original white leatherette chairs pictured in the inspiration photo above were designed by an American furniture manufacturer called Weiman (now called InterludeHome). They don’t appear to feature the chairs on their website anymore.
Since discovering this green and white breakfast nook, I’ve found numerous other dining nooks that use a banquette with a tulip table.
More often than not, the formula is:
- mid-century modern style dining chairs
- paired with a tulip table
- abstract artwork
- statement pendant light
The photo below features a space that is almost identical to our green nook! Only here, the designer has used blue instead of green!
The cool tones are a perfect choice in this case, because they tie into the intricate blue arched window outside.
The same table and chairs are used, we’ve got the oversized abstract art, a sculptural pendant, a velvet banquette and velvet throw pillows.
It’s hard to say who came up with the idea first! 🙂 Though it doesn’t really matter – what is clear is that it’s a look that really resonates with people!
