One of my favorite designers of all time is Sarah Sherman Samuel, and this stunning pink bedroom that she designed for her clients does not disappoint.

Pink is definitely not just for the kiddos anymore – interior designers are proving over and over that pink can be used in a variety of settings, in very sophisticated ways! For more pink decorating deliciousness, check out this post!

Sadly, some of the pieces featured in this bedroom are no longer available, like the bed and side tables. But I think I’ve found some really great (and a bit more affordable) alternatives!

Let’s talk about That beautiful paint color

The walls (and ceiling, it seems!) are coated in a muted blush lime wash paint from Portola in a tint called “Etcetera”. It makes me think of melted strawberry ice cream. I’m in love!

Sarah only cites the one paint in her post about this room, but it almost seems like the back wall behind the headboard is a couple of shades darker. Then again it could just be the lighting tricking my eyes! This shade does appear to photograph very differently from the swatch on the Portola website.

If you can’t get your hands on Portola, some more readily available similar paint options would be: Malted Milk, Sonoma Clay and Charmeuse (all by Benjamin Moore).

Hi! I’m painting my feature wall this Thursday. Well a painter is 🙂 I’m leaning towards Ciao Bella. Thoughts compares to the ones you mentioned by Benjamin Moore? The rest of the walls are white, and the drapes are light grey and hunter Douglas white blinds. Due to budget I can’t afford to change any of that out. My bedding is white on white embroidery by linen house, I have a soft dusty rose terracotta cushion with tassels. I don’t have a headboard bedframe at this time. The wall I’m painting is behind the bed and the wall has wooden detail – squares design which were done by the builder.

I bought a townhouse a year ago and I’m just starting to paint and look at light fixtures and an area rug for the dining and living room.

Painting my masterbedroom feature wall and potentially changing the light fixture above my bed to something more feminine, and softer is all I can afford to do this year.

What are you thoughts on ciao Bella. Is it just the name drawing me in? Lol

    1. Hi Lisa, I think Ciao Bella is a gorgeous paint color choice! Definitely similar to the ones I mentioned, it does seem to be brighter and more of a saturated pink compared to the BM paints I listed. Nothing wrong with that though! In addition to your dusty rose pillow, would try to bring in a couple more pink toned pillows, perhaps in larger or smaller sizes, and maybe a throw blanket, to tie the accent wall color better to the room 🙂 Have fun!
