If you ignore all the textures and patterns, essentially the base color in this bedroom is bright white. The white bedding, curtains, wall and ceiling color create the perfect clean base for everything else that is going on in the room. Speaking of white paint, if you’re wondering about which white paint is best, check out this article, and if you’re wondering how to choose one, check out this article.

The bed is black, but the design structure is airy enough that it doesn’t weigh down the room.

There are some really interesting textures in this room, the star of the show obviously being that beautiful pink and navy rug. The shaggy throw on the bed is also so cozy!

Other elements that add lovely texture to the room are the fur rugs (not 100% sure if they’re faux or not!), the basket planter, the chandelier and the plants.

Also loving the combo of mustard and pale pink throw pillows on the bed. I wasn’t able to find a similar lumbar pillow, however I did find an Etsy shop that carries square throw pillows using the exact same pattern.

If you like this bedroom, I recommend you also check out the rest of the home tour on Apartment Therapy – it is so beautiful!

Items in this room you can DIY yourself

If you want to save yourself an extra couple of hundred bucks, then why not try your hand at DIY’ing some of these items?

Dip stools

The Lulu & Georgia dipped stools are really cute, but if you know how to use some simple power tools and have a spare can of paint, then make these yourself!

I found a knock off DIY tutorial for these exact stools that you can check out. It’ll show you step by step how to make them.

Tassel chandelier

So yeah, we all know Anthropologie doesn’t come cheap. The good thing is that this tassel chandelier DIY isn’t the hardest project. It could be worth doing it to save yourself quite a lot of money.

I will warn you however that it will take a LONG time to make 100 yarn tassels by hand!

Here’s a video that shows you how to make a tassel chandelier (courtesy of cbc.ca).

Pom pom curtains

These are so easy to make, you don’t even need a tutorial (though you can find many online if you search). You can even make pom pom curtains without sewing.

  • No sew method: use fabric glue to secure pom pom trim along the long edges of your curtains.
  • Sewing method: sew pom pom trim along the long edges of your curtains. Done!

You could just use IKEA’s cheapest white curtains for this project, some pom pom trim and some fabric glue and be done with this in about 30 minutes.

Note that fabric glue is not meant to be a permanent solution, so it probably wouldn’t hold up if you washed your curtains.
